We left the Titusville area and made our way north on I95.  We took our time and stopped for several hours at a rest area near St. Augustine to wait out a storm.  We didn’t stop at all in Georgia, and then slept for the night at the South Carolina Welcome Center.  We got up early from our rest stop slumber and headed north again on I95.  With all the billboards we saw of South of the Border, we had decided to stop just to take a look.  We arrived at about 9:00 a.m. and decided to go ahead and get a campsite.  It was nice to have a day and a night to shower, walk the dogs, and get some work done.

The campground is older, nothing fancy, but served our needs.  The grounds needed a little work in regards to mowing.  Although we didn’t use the shower/bathroom house, we went in to see.  Although they are older structures, they were clean.  In my opinion, it doesn’t have to be fancy, but cleanliness is important.  The laundry facility was small, but the machines looked fairly new and it was kept orderly.

It was worth spending the day here.  It was reasonably priced, pet friendly, and you were able to use the Motor Lodge’s indoor pool.  Although they advertise WiFi, it was only available in the campground office.  They seemed to be in an update mode as they had a brand new office and was putting up a new sign as we were leaving.

We enjoyed looking at all the little touristy shops.  It was exactly what we expected…a quirky spot off the highway.
