Gayla was up and going early this morning, and I wasn’t too far behind her. The day started out calm and peaceful—exactly what you hope for when you’re camped on a mountain at 9,020 feet. Coffee in hand, we took in the quiet morning before jumping into our respective tasks.

I spent some time backing up our media files and photos, making sure we don’t lose any memories from this trip. I also texted a few folks back home to check in and share a bit of what we’ve been up to.

For lunch, I browned up some beef and made tacos—avocados included, of course. It hit the spot. After lunch, we both got back to work on some client projects, knocking out what we could with the decent signal we had.

Later in the afternoon, we leashed up the dogs and took a walk around camp. Nature delivered in a big way—we spotted three moose and even startled a group of wild turkeys. The dogs had no idea what was going on, but they were thrilled to be part of the chaos.

Once things settled down, I found myself napping around 3 PM. The wind had really picked up, so being outside wasn’t much of an option. A nap was the next best thing—and honestly, it was just what I needed.

Dinner tonight was steaks cooked over the fire and topped with butter. Simple, hearty, and perfect after a laid-back day in the mountains.
