Last night, we caught another glimpse of the International Space Station flying overhead—such a neat sight, even if it meant we got to bed a little later than usual.

Morning greeted us with a change in wind direction. The breeze had flipped and was giving our shade shelter quite a workout—more parachute than protection. Gayla and I jumped into action, tightened the guy lines, and dropped one side lower to help it cut through the wind more smoothly. A little morning engineering.

Gayla had a client video call early on, and once she wrapped that up, we planned a quick trip into town.

Around 1:30 PM, we rolled into town and stopped at American Legion Park. The dogs had an absolute blast romping through the lushest grass we’ve seen in a long time—definitely a highlight for them. From there, it was on to Ridley’s Ace Hardware to grab a few odds and ends. While Gayla was next door checking out the grocery store, she struck out on food but scored some thread locker instead. Not quite dinner, but still a win.

For dinner, we crossed the street to Dave’s Last Stand for another round of Cajun burgers and tots. Still hitting the spot.

Afterward, we paid a visit to the Museum of the Mountain Man and ended up running into several familiar faces. It turned into a great evening—good food, lively conversation, and watching the wine and art auction.

Later, we made a quick trip back to Soda Lake to grab our other shelter that had been holding our campsite. Then it was back to the museum for moonrise. The full moon lit up the night as we visited with new acquaintances and soaked in the atmosphere.
