After yesterday’s long day of work, driving, and general running around, Gayla and I were completely wiped out. We both slept like rocks.

I woke up around 6:30 AM to the comforting smell of fresh coffee brewing. While sipping my cup, I did a little research on a few things for Clifford—always more to learn about keeping him running smoothly.

By 8:34 AM we had the dogs out, camp packed up, and were rolling toward Rock Springs for some errands. First stop: Harbor Freight for a few tools, followed by Walmart for supplies. Gayla wanted to check out a local yarn shop, so I drove to the listed address—only to find that it didn’t match the photo online at all. After a bit of circling and head-scratching, we decided to give up the hunt and hit I‑80 eastbound.

Clifford was running great today, with the steering slop finally gone. Just after noon, we pulled off in Rawlins, Wyoming to stretch our legs and give the dogs a break.

Our final destination for the day was Medicine Bow National Forest, tucked between Laramie and Cheyenne. Once we arrived and got set up, I dove right into tightening up the passenger-side wheel bearing. Having the right tools made the job a whole lot easier.

Sure enough, the spindle nuts were only finger tight—when they should’ve been torqued to 50 ft‑lbs, backed off 90° on the inner nut, and then 50 ft‑lbs on the outer. No wonder things felt a bit loose! After re‑torquing everything, the bearings are solid and Clifford is ready for the road again.

Tomorrow is a new day, and we’re looking forward to whatever adventures await.
