We decided to sleep in a bit. After we got up and walked the dogs, we had coffee with Joy and Grizz. They left for appointments and we stayed and used their wifi for client calls.

By noon, we were packing up and headed toward Cheyenne. At 1:25 PM, we were leaving Kansas and entering Nebraska. At 2:25 PM, we entered into Mountain Time Zone. Our phones didn’t change over to the new time until about four hours later. I kept track of both CT and MT in my written log for the remainder of today.

At 2:50 PM CT (1:50 PM MT), we stopped in Imperial, NE for fuel and drinks. Oh, and ice cream was a welcomed treat.

By 3:40 PM CT (2:40 PM MT), we left Nebraska and crossed into Colorado. We stopped at a point of interest to let the dogs out and walk around a bit.

We needed water, so a Dollar General stop was in order in Holyoke, Colorado. By 4:00 PM MT, we were back in Nebraska. Our phones finally changed time to mountain time zone.

At 4:20 PM, we arrived at Chappell Poney Express Park. We drove around town a bit before we settled in to a camp spot.

Campsite number 4 is brought to you by Chappell Lake in Nebraska right along the Pony Express Route and a B-24j crash site. The info we saw on Campendium indicated that there were no bathrooms in the park. When we were there, the bathrooms were open and maintained.

Still, no interstate driving but we did put down 213.9 miles since noon today. Overall average of 12.15 mpg. Dogs are happy we’re heading for cooler weather.
