We decided to stay put this morning and get in several hours of work before we hit the road. Robert rested while I enjoyed the outdoor office with our little table and camp chairs. The dogs were tied to tent stakes and resting around me.

While on my last call, the maintenance guy came and needed to mow. He and Robert talked a bit. He didn’t want to disturb the dogs, so he left for a bit. The poor guy came back and said his supervisor didn’t want him to wait to mow.

We quickly packed things up (while I was still on my call) and moved to the other side of the lake. Once my call was over, we packed better and were on our way.

Oh my goodness! It was HOT by mid-day. There were TONS of bugs on that side of the lake.

At 12:20 PM, we left Jewell Lake. We were headed to Antelope Lake to work, then drop in for a visit to Joy and Lil Grizz’s house in New Almelo, Kansas.

We hadn’t traveled too far when we stopped in Cawker City for fuel. The fuel station is next to the biggest ball of twine. We didn’t take any pics at the twine ball because we did that touristy thing last year on our way through the area.

By 2:30 PM, we were craving a BIG drink with ICE! It was so HOT! We stopped at Casey’s in Hills City, Kansas to top off fuel and get our refreshments. The doggies even got a cup of ice.

At 6:20 PM, we had to stop and work for a bit. We arrived at Antelope Fishing Lake. Oh boy, it was HOT!

We found a place at the top of a hill and pulled out our awning for shade. There were some wind gusts for a bit of relief from the scorching heat. It was the only place that we could get a signal to boost from our weBoost! We are thankful to have it to allow us to be further away from the crowds and still be able to get work done efficiently.

After we were done with work, we headed to New Almelo to visit our friends, Hats by Grizz Made with Joy. We had a lovely visit. The dogs hung out close to us, but Grizz and Joy’s cats didn’t know what to think about our visit. Robert toured Grizz’s workshop and made sure to sign the wall in a spot just as tall as TuTall. 🙂

We had a lovely dinner and took them up on their invitation to camp in their yard for the night.
